#Owncation. Own your vacation.
Own it, use it, rent it, swap it.

CaribEco Owncation is a new way to vacation, created in the Dominican Republic. You don't rent a vacation, and you don't buy time. You own part of a real, furnished villa in a managed eco park, together with 11 other owners. We build it, we run it, and we take care of everything.

Real co-ownership, with your name on the papers. No payment to join the founders list.

Founding Owners wanted

Help us launch something never done before in the DR.

The first CaribEco park is in Cabrera. The park is not open yet: we are preparing the land now, and the villas are built in our own plant. We are looking for 36 Founding Owners, the owners of the first 3 villas, to help us start it.

Founders get:

  • The lowest price we will ever offer. The price goes up as villas sell.
  • The first year of owner fees included.
  • First pick of villa and dates.
  • A vote on the park: amenities, theme and services.
  • Priority in every new CaribEco park.
  • Your name on the Founders Wall at the park entrance.
How Owncation works

Step by step, from the day you buy to the day you sell.

  1. What you buy

    • One of 12 co-ownerships of a real, furnished villa in a CaribEco park.
    • Your name is on the papers. You own part of the villa itself.
    • The villa sits on a 30-year lease in our park. It is built to be moved, so it can go to another park.
  2. What it costs

    • You pay once for your co-ownership. Pay cash, or finance it over 4 years.
    • A low monthly owner fee covers security, gardens, pool, maintenance, insurance and the on-site manager. It is locked for 3 years.
    • You pay only for what you use: cleaning per stay, metered electricity, driver trips.
    • No hidden fees. Every cost is in writing before you sign.
  3. Your vacation

    • 30 nights a year, booked in the owner app, split into as many stays as you like.
    • Holidays rotate every year, so everyone gets their turn.
    • Your villa is booked on the dates you want? You get another villa the same size.
    • Your own locked owner's closet stays in the villa, so you travel light.
  4. When you're not there

    • We rent your unused nights to travelers, like Airbnb.
    • You keep 65% of the rental. We keep 35% for the service. The guest pays the cleaning fee.
    • A few rented nights a year can cover your owner fee.
  5. The service

    • Our team cleans, maintains and manages everything on site.
    • Drivers take you to the beach, to shopping and to the airport.
    • You arrive and your villa is ready.
  6. If you want out

    • Sell your co-ownership whenever you want. We help you find the buyer.
    • Or keep it and leave it to your family.
  7. The land

    • We lease the park land now, with the purchase agreed within 5 years.
    • Your villa is movable, so it is never trapped on one piece of land.
Is this a timeshare?

No. Here is the difference.

Airbnb

  • You pay every night, every year.
  • You own nothing.
  • A different place every time.

Timeshare

  • You buy time, not a home.
  • The company keeps the building.
  • Very hard to resell.

Owncation

  • You own part of a real villa.
  • Use it, rent it, swap it.
  • Sell your part whenever you want.
Why it works

New in the Dominican Republic. Proven everywhere else.

Owncation takes the best of four ideas that already work, and puts them together for the first time.

PacasoCO-OWNERSHIP

One real home owned by a small group. Founded in 2020, it became a billion-dollar company at record speed, with more than $1 billion in home sales in over 40 destinations. Its co-owners pay up to about $678,000 for one-eighth of a home.

Casa Linda, SosúaMANAGED VILLAS IN THE DR

Owners' villas inside a managed resort community, rented to vacationers when the owners are away. Proven on the DR's north coast, with villas from about $219,800, or about $28,900 down and $2,176 a month for 20 years.

AirbnbSERVICE

Book a stay, arrive, everything is ready. We give you that service, at Airbnb prices or less.

What's new: all four in one, in movable villas in a managed eco park, at a price most families can reach.

Every new idea needed believers

The best vacation ideas started with people who said yes first.

None of these were finished when the first people signed up. They became real because founders believed in them early.

1991Disney Vacation Club

Sold before the first resort opened.

Disney put memberships on sale in September 1991 from a preview center, before its first vacation club resort opened that December. It sold about $50 million in the first year, and grew into more than a dozen resorts.

Three friends, air mattresses and cereal boxes.

In 2007 two roommates rented air mattresses on their living-room floor during a sold-out conference in San Francisco. To keep going, the founders sold presidential-candidate cereal boxes and raised $30,000. By March 2009 they had 10,000 users, and today it is a household name.

325,000 people reserved a car they could not get yet.

In one week, people put down a refundable deposit of about $1,000 for a car that would not be delivered until the end of 2017. Those early believers paid for the factory.

Owncation is our turn. A new way to vacation, never done in the Dominican Republic. We are looking for the first 36 founders to say yes and help us make it happen.

The first park

CaribEco Park Cabrera. 15 villas in a private garden.

Every villa has its own deck and plunge pool. In the middle: the pool, a palapa bar and a gazebo. Cars stay at the entrance, so inside it is only gardens, walkways and golf carts.

Cabrera. The green, quiet side of the Caribbean.

See the land

This is the land for our first park: green, flat, shaded by big trees and coconut palms, with the paved road and power line along the front.

Your vacation keeps a Dominican town working.

Every Owncation villa is built and run by Dominican people. The welders and builders in our plant, the crews who set the villas, and the cleaners, gardeners, guards and drivers in the park are hired from Cabrera and nearby towns.

When you own here, your money stays here. You treat yourself, and you help a local economy grow.

Questions

What people ask us.

Is this a timeshare?

No. A timeshare sells you time in a building the company keeps. With Owncation you own part of a real villa, with your name on the papers, and you can rent it or sell it.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. You pay your co-ownership once, a low monthly owner fee locked for 3 years, and services only when you use them (cleaning, electricity, driver). Every cost is in writing before you sign. Founders get the first year of owner fees included.

Why not just use Airbnb?

On Airbnb you pay every night, every year, and you own nothing. With Owncation, if you finance over 4 years, your yearly cost is about what Airbnb costs. After that it is paid off, and you still own your part.

Is the park open?

Not yet. The land is being prepared and the villas are built in our plant. Founders reserve first and choose first. We will show you every step with photos and video.

What if I want June and someone else has it?

You book your own 30 nights in the owner app, on the dates you choose. If your villa is taken, you get another villa the same size. Holidays rotate every year.

Who owns the land?

We lease the park land now, with the purchase agreed within 5 years. Your villa sits on a 30-year lease and is built to be moved.

How do I sell?

Tell us and we help you find a buyer, or sell it yourself. You can also leave it to your family.

Do I pay anything now?

No. Joining the founders list is free. When reservations open, the list chooses first, in the order people joined.
